Okay, folks. This will be my eighth and final Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois on March 9, 2019. I will be retiring and we will be moving to Texas, so please help me out in this final year.

I plunged as an individual in 2012, and since 2013 I have plunged with the Ice-A-Topes for Cami. Cami is my granddaughter who had a stroke at birth, leaving her with partial paralysis and intellectual disabilities. We were told that she would not be able to run, jump or play like other children her age. However, her disabilities did not hold her back. She started participating in Special Olympics Illinois in 2010 when she was 9. She has competed with her peers in basketball (in both games and skill tournaments), bowling and in track and field events (standing broad jump, softball throw, and 50 and 100 meter dashes), compiling medals with a sense of accomplishment along the way.

The Ice-A-Topes for Cami have raised $80,000 since we started. Our stretch goal is to reach $100,000 in total donations before we call it quits.

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to this worthy cause. With Special Olympics Illinois being a 501(c)(3) charity, many companies will match your donation. Please look into that. This event benefits more than 23,000 athletes participating with Special Olympics Illinois, including Cami.

Donating through this site is simple, fast, and secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my Polar Plunge efforts and show your support for Special Olympics Illinois.  If you would like to join me or learn more about Plunge Illinois visit www.plungeillinois.com for all of the chilly details.

Thanks in advance for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
