I have committed to “be bold and get cold” for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois by taking not one, but 24 icy dips into the frigid winter waters! That's right, I will be jumping into Lake Michigan once an hour, every hour, for 24 hours straight!Starting Friday February 16th at 2pm thru Saturday at 1pm.
This will be my 13th year doing the Super Plunge.
While I’m getting cold just thinking about it, I’m excited to join this elite group and challenge myself during the 24-hour SUPER Plunge. The cold I’ll experience is temporary; the positive impact this event makes on the lives of Special Olympics athletes across Illinois will last a lifetime!
I need your help! No, I’m not asking you to plunge alongside me, but I hope you will support my efforts by making a donation to Special Olympics Illinois. Any amount is appreciated – it all goes to one “cool” cause and gets me that much closer to my goal. Best of all, your donation helps provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in Special Olympics programs and reveal their inner champion.
I will again be looking forward to wearing my shorts on the weekends starting with our first snow fall thru our 24 plunges on Feb. 16th. I need to make sure I have my mind and body ready for freezing cold slushy waters of Lake Michigan.
***** Any Person or Business who donates $100 or more to my effort, I will take a plunge wearing YOUR company shirt or hat with YOUR logo on it.*******
Thanks to all of the generous people and businesses that helped our team of 5 Super Plungers raise more than $23,000 last year. I very proud of the entire group of 40 Super Plungers that raised $122,125 in 2017. I hope you have it in your hearts to help out again this year.
If you would like to Donate by check please make it out to: Special Olympics IL and mail to:
