I have decided to take the “PLUNGE for the 4th time!“

On February 16-17, 2018 I have committed to “be bold and get cold” once an hour, every hour, for 24 hours straight – yes you read that right, as part of the SUPER Plunge event to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.  Yes, you have to be a little crazy to jump into Lake Michigan in the middle of winter, but this extreme event is an exceptional way to raise much-needed funds and awareness for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.  You could say that I’m freezin’ for a reason!

Special Olympics Illinois has been a part of my life for several years.  My sister-in-law, Andrea, was born with Down Syndrome, and has been a participant for 19 Years.  She bowls, plays tennis, bocce ball, volleyball, basketball, and track and field.  Yes, you can see she stays quite busy!  My wife and I take our two young daughters to cheer on Andrea and all of the other participants.  Andrea will always be a winner to us!  My daughters share a special bond with their “Auntie” and my wife and I could not be more blessed.

I have set a personal fundraising goal of $2,500 and I need your help to reach it!  I am asking if you will make a tax-deductible donation to Special Olympics Illinois on my behalf for taking the 2018 SUPER Plunge.  Any amount would be appreciated- it all goes to a wonderful cause, and every little bit gets me that much closer to my goal. In order to support my Plunge, please visit my personal fundraising page, go to www.plungeillinois.com, then scroll down and click on SUPER Plunge then it will take you to the donor drive website then type my name in Fundraiser Search.  From here, you can make a secure donation via credit or debit card.  If you’d prefer to make an offline donation, please make your check payable to “Special Olympics Illinois” and mail it directly to me.  Through generous donations like yours, we are changing the way that the world views individuals with intellectual disabilities!

If you want to learn more about this “official event of winter,” visit www.plungeillinois.com for all of the chilly details.  Think warm thoughts for me as February 16 approaches!

Thanks in advance for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
