I'm getting ready to take the plunge...but in an exciting new way this year. I won't be at Carlyle Lake - I'll be plunging at one of my favorite restaurants in Belleville, the 4202 Main Street Brewing Company.
I know you're asking yourself, "How do you plunge at a restaurant?" In a dumpster! I can imagine what you're thinking - that was Mom's first reaction, too - but the dumpsters are new ones, all clean, with swimming pool liners in them. There's going to be food, warm drinks, and a band, so it's going to be fun! I'm on the planning committee, so I had the chance to pose for poster pictures and do an interview to help promote this first-of-its-kind event.
If you'd like to come plunge and party with me, that would be great! But if you can't, can you sponsor me this year? I've set a goal of $1000. It all goes to a really good cause: you'll be helping me and every other Special Olympics athlete grow, learn, and release our "Inner Champion."
Donating through this site is simple, fast, and secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my Polar Plunge efforts and show your support for Special Olympics Illinois. If you would like to #PlungeWith me or learn more about this “official event of winter,” visit www.plungeillinois.com for all of the chilly details.
Thanks in advance for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
