Drive With Your Top Down for Special Olympics Illinois

Join us on Saturday, June 12th as we drive with our tops down to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois!

Beginning at the Country Haven Event Center in Effingham, with registration starting at 10:30am, drivers and passengers of topless vehicles will leave Country Haven and begin a run of fun to various bar and restaurant locations throughout Effingham, Cumberland, Coles, and Shelby Counties.

Drive stops include Danny's Bar & Grill in Watson, The Blacktop Tavern in Dieterich, The Kazbar in Sigel, and The Brew Bank in Stewardson.  The final location will be back at the Country Haven Event Center, where the grand prize drawings will be held at 7:00pm, along with raffle ticket auction baskets, and the accumulated 50/50 drawing.  Stay and enjoy the rock of the 80's Boombox Band kicking off at 8:30pm, along with bags games, and other fun!

Just $20 per vehicle plus driver, and $5 per passenger, will ensure your Drive Top Down poker ticket with first card and each additional card of your hand will be provided at each location of the drive.   Opportunities for 50/50 tickets are also available, six tickets for $5 or twenty tickets for $10.  Drawings will be held at 7:00pm upon return to the Country Haven Event Center.

Why Special Olympics Illinois?

Special Olympics Illinois is a not-for-profit organization that serves more than 23,000 traditional athletes with intellectual disabilities and 13,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities.  Through inclusive athletic, health and leadership programs, Special Olympics Illinois empowers our athletes to transform themselves, their communities and the world. Individuals with intellectual disabilities face societal, political and cultural discrimination, ranging from misunderstanding and bullying to isolation and exclusion. At the core of our mission, Special Olympics IL is a sports organization that uses the power of sports as a catalyst for social change.  We breakdown long-held misconceptions about people with intellectual disabilities by highlighting the inherent talent and unbounded promise of our athletes and how their spirit has, does and will continue to positively impact communities throughout Illinois.
