Think You Have What it takes to SUPER Plunge?

This winter, Special Olympics Illinois is excited to provide our truly elite Plungers the opportunity to support the athletes from the comfort of their own home! In a normal year, SUPER Plungers would take 24 icy dips into Lake Michigan to raise funds and awareness for the nearly 23,000 traditional athletes and 13,000 Young Athletes participating across Illinois. Due to the pandemic, we are asking our supporters to be creative in how they will #BeBoldGetCold in 2021!

SUPER Plunge At Home

What does it look like to SUPER Plunge At Home? We’re glad you asked.

It’s simple!  Between now and March 14, each SUPER Plunger will will #BeBoldGetCold 24 times over a 24-hour period wherever and however they would like. We encourage everyone to put their own creative spin on how they take their 24 plunges! Maybe that’s splashing into your icy cold pool, jumping into the snow, or pouring icy water on yourself – it is all up to you! SUPER Plunge At Home participants can plunge as an individual or join a team. Click here for some ideas on how to #BeBoldGetCold at home!

Maybe that’s plunging into your bathtub or into the snow. Maybe it is an icy water balloon fight. We want you to get creative and be safe! Just like in the past, SUPER Plunge At Home participants can plunge as an individual or join a team.

And of course, don’t forget to document it! We are asking all SUPER Plungers to share their unique spin on the SUPER Plunge At Home twist with us – so we can share it with the Special Olympics Illinois community. Post it on social with the hashtag #BeBoldGetCold and tag our social profiles.

Plus, send those videos to us directly for a chance to be a part of our Polar Plunge Recap Special, airing on March 14. You can email your video submission to any time from now until March 1.

Stay tuned for more information on that special, plus additional ideas on how you can #BeBoldGetCold at home!

Each SUPER Plunger must raise a minimum of $1,500 to participate in this extreme event and will receive an exclusive SUPER Plunge sweatshirt as well as qualify for all traditional Polar Plunge incentives.
