2023 LETR SUPER Plunge Party - LETR

Be Cool. Take the SUPER Plunge.

And you will be supporting Special Olympics Illinois athletes across the state, helping to provide them with life-changing programming. This includes year-round training and competition, as well as leadership, personal development, and health education opportunities.

The Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run is totally stoked to host this event in 2023. 

Plungers will have two options to participate in the Cork & Kerry SUPER PLUNGE PARTY: 

• Plunge 24 times: Take the SUPER PLUNGE Challenge and jump into the cool water every 30 mins for 12 hours.

  • Fundraising Goal for 24 times is $1500

• Plunge 1 time: Come out during our special friends and family hours and take the plunge!

  • Fundraising Goal for 1 time is $100​

​*Please note: both types of plungers can be on the same team!

Thanks for BEING SO COOL and supporting the more than 21,000 athletes in Illinois. 

We are asking all Plungers to share their experiences with us and the Special Olympics Illinois community. Post it on social with the hashtag #PlungeIllinois is and tag our social profiles. So challenge teammates, other teams, or other plungers on who will raise the most for our athletes.

Timeline:

  • 8 a.m. Registration Opens
  • 8:45 a.m. Opening Ceremony
  • 9 a.m. FIRST PLUNGE OF THE DAY (Super Plungers will be jumping every 30 mins)
  • 10 a.m. (YOUR SPECIAL TEAM HOUR HERE) reserve an hour!
  • 12 p.m. (YOUR SPECIAL TEAM HOUR HERE) email Twiscons@soill.org to reserve an hour!
  • 2 p.m. (YOUR SPECIAL TEAM HOUR HERE) South Siders! 
  • 4 p.m. (YOUR SPECIAL TEAM HOUR HERE) reserve an hour!
  • 6 p.m. (YOUR SPECIAL TEAM HOUR HERE) reserve an hour!
  • 8:30 p.m. LAST PLUNGE OF THE DAY! 

DON'T WANT TO PLUNGE?! That's ok we are looking for volunteers!

Official Polar Plunge Sweatshirt Information:

All traditional Plungers who have reached their fundraising $100 (1x Plungers) or $1500 (24x Plungers) minimum by midnight on February 28 will be guaranteed their 2023 Polar Plunge sweatshirt at the Cork & Kerry SUPER PLUNGE.  

All participants who reach the $100 (1x Plungers) or $1500 (24x Plungers) fundraising threshold after that date but before the final fundraising date will receive their sweatshirt after the conclusion of the 2023 Polar Plunge season. Donations may be submitted online via your personalized fundraising page or mailed to Special Olympics Illinois. Click here for details on how to submit offline donations. 

Plunger Incentives:

All SUPER Plunge participants are encouraged to fundraise beyond the $1500 minimum for a chance to qualify for additional incentives. Incentive levels include $2000 and $2500. An email with a redemption code will be sent to all qualifying plungers in early April.
