Be Cool. Take the Oak Brook Plunge on Saturday, March 11th.

And you will be supporting Special Olympics Illinois athletes across the state, helping to provide them with life-changing programming. This includes year-round training and competition, as well as leadership, personal development, and health education opportunities.

The Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run is totally stoked to host this event in 2023.

Plungers will have two options to participate:

Join Special Olympics Illinois here at the Oak Brook Plunge at the Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club- 800 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL.

Or, take the Polar Plunge experience into your own hands and Create Your Own Plunge (safely, of course) by clicking here.

Thanks for BEING SO COOL and supporting the more than 21,000 athletes in Illinois.

And of course, no matter where you are taking the Polar Plunge, don’t forget to document it! We are asking all Plungers to share their experiences with us and the Special Olympics Illinois community. Post it on social with the hashtag #PlungeIllinois is and tag our social profiles

When coordinating your Create Your Own Plunge efforts, please be safe. Do not attempt to jump into a lake, river or any other open body of water for the Create Your Own Plunge. Participants should not do anything that could physically harm themselves or others. Special Olympics Illinois is not responsible for any injuries that occur while participating in the Create Your Own Plunge event.

Oak Brook Plunge Pre-Party

We will be hosting a "Pre-Party" during registration where desserts and warm drinks will be served and a DJ will be blaring our favorite beats. We will also hold our costume contest during this time.

*ICE COLD PLUNGE TIP*

Bring a water-proof bag with you to put your dry clothes in before the plunge and your wet ones after!

Plunge Parking

No parking will be allowed at the Bath & Tennis Club. All attendees will park at the Christ Church of Oak Brook (501 Oak Brook Road) and will be shuttled over the Bath and Tennis Club starting at 10:45am.

Event Day Schedule

Polar Plunge registration opens up at 11am inside our heated registration tents.  The plunge will begin at 1pm and we expect to be finished by no later than 2pm (yes, it is FAST)!  Please make sure you are registered and changed by 12:45p so you are ready for the plunge line up for opening remarks.

We thank you in advance for being on time.  We need to be considerate of the Oak Brook Fire Department Dive Team that is in the water during the plunge, so once the last group plunges, the plunge site will close and we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals.

*ICE COLD PLUNGE TIP*

Please remove all personal items from the changing tents as soon as possible after your plunge.  Space is limited and if you have a common bag, mark it in some way so you do not grab someone else’s by mistake!
